Partner-Bentsi-Enchill, Letsa & Ankomah
WEBINAR DESCRIPTION :
Arbitration, like many other specialized fields, utilizes specific terminologies and jargons as part of its language for resolving disputes. These terminologies are often unfamiliar, requiring explanation and guidance on how to apply them.
The goal of this webinar is to demystify the terms and jargons used in domestic and international arbitration. It will be presented in a user-friendly manner so that participants can gain an in-depth understanding of these terminologies and how they are used or applied in the context of arbitration proceedings. Through case scenarios and practical exercises, participants will be assisted to navigate through these terminologies.
*At the end of the course, participants can expect to: *
1. be introduced to various terminologies used in domestic and international arbitration;
2. understand the globally accepted specific meanings of the terminologies when used in arbitration; and
3. apply these terminologies in the context of arbitration proceedings.
Participants should expect this course to be extremely interactive.
This course is accompanied by a manual/handbook of arbitration terminologies, a required pre-reading for the course, and a practical reference guide for future use. Compiled by the webinar instructor, it contains definitions, explanatory notes, and examples/illustrations of the terminologies (legal terms, standard expressions, conventions, rules, and practice) used in arbitration.
The course is highly subsidized to make it accessible to as many as are interested in arbitration. It is part of the Ghana ADR Hub’s larger initiative of promoting alternative forms of dispute resolution in Ghana.
